  • Open the settings app on the Android 
  • Go to “Data Usage” 
  • Scroll down for the complete list of your installed apps 
  • Tab on the Life360 app icon 
  • On the next screen, you will see detailed statistics 
  • Tap on the radio button next to “Restrict App Background Data.” 
  • Tap OK on the popup window to confirm the action 

By performing this, the Life360 app on Android will stop working in the background when you are using other apps. Data usage and battery consumption will only be used when you open the app. 

How do you turn off Background Restriction on iOS in Life360? 

  • Open the Settings app on iOS (iPhone or iPad) 
  • Go to General 
  • Tap on “Background App Refresh” 
  • Turn off the radio button by tapping on “Background App Refresh.”
